About Andrew Jackson

Learning, Performance and the AI Shift

I’m Andrew Jackson. I’ve spent the last 20 years helping organisations improve performance by re-thinking how people actually acquire and apply learning in a workplace context.

I began my career in learning and development long before AI was part of the conversation.

Over time, I have shifted from focusing solely on instructional design to thinking much more deeply about what it takes to really change skills and behaviour in the workplace.

My Current Project: Building PerformaGo

My original focus on instructional design was wrapped up with the co-founding of Pacific Blue Solutions. Our original aim was to help organisations design learning that was both effective and engaging.

That gradual shift from of focus from instructional design to an impact and performance, led to me founding Pacific Blue AI and, ultimately, starting work on PerformaGo — an AI-driven performance support platform designed to put practical, reliable help in people’s hands at the exact moment they need it.

My work now sits at the intersection of three things: learning design, workplace performance, and intelligent support.

Read More from my Diary

I’m writing about the personal journey to create PerformaGo in my public Diary — the decisions, dead ends, design principles, technical hurdles and “light bulb” moments involved in building an AI-powered tool.

Overall, I’m interested in exploring how learning connects to day-to-day work in a changing world.

I hope that my writing on this site will help de-mystify some of the jargon, hype and fear around AI because I believe that over the next few years, L&D can benefit massively from AI’s potential.

That’s the conversation I’m here for.

Where to find my writing...

Most weeks, I publish my thinking on Learning Re-Framed — a Substack where I explore how learning connects with day-to-day work in a changing world.

This site, andrewjackson.ai, is where I document the more personal, behind-the-scenes journey of building PerformaGo, alongside reflections on AI, tools and ideas that shape the work.

You’ll also find my writing on pacificblue.ai and pacificblue.co.uk, each from a slightly different angle.

You can connect with me on LinkedIn for updates, or visit the Contact Me page for other ways to get in touch.
